いよいよ、二之湯しんじ氏との対談「自由で開かれたインド太平洋」最終回の４本目です。
私は、島嶼議連と海洋議連、2つの議連で発表する機会をいただきました。１回目の公演の後、衛藤晟一議員から「今の話は安倍政権のセキュリティダイヤモンドに関係があるんだ。どう関係するか？」と聞かれ答えられませんでした。
２回目の講演までに安倍晋三総理が書いた Asia's Democratic Security Diamond を何度も読み込み答えを得て臨んだ内容がこの回です。
まさに、太平洋島嶼国が安倍政権のインド太平洋構想につながり、自ら管理も開発もできないEEZを抱える太平洋島嶼国の海洋安全保障が太平洋・島サミット、すなわち日本の対太平洋島嶼国政策に加わるきっかけとなりました。

Finally, this is the fourth and final talk with Mr. Shinji Ninoyu, ‘A Free and Open Indo-Pacific’.
I had the opportunity to give a talk at two parliamentary caucuses, the Island Countries Caucus and the Ocean Policy Caucus. After the first talk, Mr. Seichi Eto, a member of the House of Representatives, asked me, ‘The talk you just gave is related to the Abe administration's security diamond. How is it related?’ I couldn't answer him.
By the time of the second lecture, I had read Prime Minister Abe's "Asia's Democratic Security Diamond" many times and had found the answer to the question, and this is the content of the lecture.
The Pacific Island countries were connected to the Abe administration's Indo-Pacific concept, and the maritime security of the Pacific Island countries, which have EEZs that they cannot manage or develop themselves, became a chance to add to the Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting, or Japan's policy towards the Pacific Island countries.
